Large Format: A Simple Way to Open Up the Space
The large format of the Mega Melville slab plays a central role in the layout. By reducing the number of visible joints, it creates a more continuous surface, preventing the ground from feeling visually busy and giving the impression of a larger area. In narrow spaces, this type of slab limits the fragmented effect associated with smaller formats and helps visually open up the space, even when the actual dimensions are limited.
A Linear Installation That Enhances Depth
The linear installation of the slabs between the house and the pool establishes a clear, structured axis. Straight lines naturally guide movement and make the space feel longer and better proportioned. The Melville Tandem wall and Melville Plus capping, both in Scandina Grey, are used here to define the property and frame the fire pit area while maintaining continuity with the Mega Melville slabs underfoot. Their smooth surface and clean lines integrate naturally into a contemporary design without weighing it down.
Versatile in use, the Melville Tandem wall, available in 90 mm and 180 mm heights, allows for straight or curved lines and can be used for retaining walls, freestanding walls, fire pit features or outdoor kitchens. Melville Plus capping, offered in 60 mm and 90 mm, provides a refined finish for walls and can also be used as pool edging or seating.
In this project, these elements structure the fire pit and relaxation areas without obstructing the view of the lake.
