A Design That Redefines Scale

Creating a complete and harmonious outdoor design can seem complex when a single property must serve multiple purposes. This residential project shows that it is possible to achieve this through a thoughtful selection of Permacon products that structure the space while respecting both the architecture and the surrounding landscape.

A Design That Redefines Scale

A Comprehensive Project Featuring Permacon Products

Here, each area was designed as a natural extension of the home: backyard, pavilion, swimming pool, pool deck, outdoor skating rink, and heated driveway. The overall layout is based on a harmonious combination of Mega Melville pavers, Mega Melville slabs, the Grande wall used as a retaining wall for the driveway, and Dominion stone in Limestone for the home façade.

This approach creates visual continuity from the front to the back of the property, without multiplying materials or introducing visual breaks.

Mega Melville Slabs and Pavers as a Structuring Foundation

A Design That Redefines Scale

Mega Melville slabs in range Scandina Grey play a central role in organizing the main surfaces. Their large format creates open, well-defined areas around the pool, pavilion and relaxation areas. Their smooth surface and straight lines naturally complement the home’s contemporary character and the Limestone Dominion stone, echoing its light, mineral tones.

Mega Melville pavers, used in areas subject to heavier traffic—particularly the driveway—ensure aesthetic continuity while meeting the requirements of vehicular use.

Installation Patterns Tailored to Each Area

This project highlights two distinct laying patterns, selected according to function and desired visual effect:

  • Linear installation to structure large surfaces and emphasize the main axes of the property
  • Herringbone installation to introduce rhythm and visual contrast in certain key areas

This alternation makes it possible to differentiate spaces without changing products, an advantage for landscape professionals, architects and homeowners alike.

A Retaining Wall That Structures the Driveway

A Design That Redefines Scale

The Grande wall serves as a retaining wall for the driveway, transforming a technical requirement into a true design element. It integrates seamlessly with the home’s contemporary architecture and helps define grade changes while ensuring the stability of the layout.

Visual Continuity from the Building to the Outdoor Living Areas

The materials used outdoors echo the straight lines and light tones of the façade. The Limestone Dominion stone on the home pairs naturally with the range Scandina Grey Mega Melville slabs, avoiding any visual break between the building and the backyard. This continuity enhances the home’s style and proportions without introducing unnecessary contrast.

An Outdoor Layout Designed for a Harsh Climate

Designed to withstand freeze-thaw cycles, the Permacon pavers, slabs and walls used in this project are well suited to climate conditions. Whether for a heated driveway, a backyard or a multifunctional area such as an outdoor skating rink, the surfaces maintain their appearance throughout the seasons.
